fall is proof that change is beautiful
my reflections on love, despondency, and chicken noodle soup. :P
Even as a little girl, fall has always carried an air of sadness, loss, and nostalgia to me. Nature changes...closes down for winter...things die.
As someone who loves the warmth, sun, and all summer activities, this transition is not fun. Lol. 😑
Something changed for me this year, though. This fall is the first time I can remember where, without having to try, I fully welcomed the energy of autumn. Not because it’s morbid but because it’s actually exquisitely beautiful. Change is not always bad, sad, or unfortunate.
Look around. The vibrant, rich, breathtaking colors of fall tell a story of something much different. Of something worth noticing, slowing down for, and honoring.
Change is truly in the air. I’m allowing myself to change too. This whole year has been such a lesson in surrendering and trusting.
If we can stop resisting, and instead support ourselves in the process, we will move through it...and evolve.
Over on Instagram, I'm on Day 15 of the Self-Care Challenge and am grateful for the daily reminders and accountability to check in and share how I'm caring for myself during the transition of seasons.
You can join the challenge at any time, with or without the journal. I made it available in two versions to be accessible to more people, whether you like a physical or digital version:
60 Days of Self-Care Daily Journal [digital]
60 Days of Self-Care Daily Journal [paperback]
Either way, I would love to have you along! 🍂🌿🍁💛
As far as how it’s going for me and the insights I’ve gained…let’s dig into it!
